The 1960 Topps Mickey Mantle #350 card is the second time a regular base card has featured the Mick horizontally. The first time was back in 1956. The 1960 Topps card features a batting pose of Mickey Mantle holding a bat against his shoulder and sporting a New York Yankees ball cap.
I like this card because it also has another image of Mickey Mantle along the left side of the card. This card is very colorful. It has a bright red color along the left side of the card and a bright yellow color along the bottom. Mickey’s name is in black and red colors.
On the back of the card which features one of Topps’ famous comic drawings, the card states, “Mickey was the A.L. Most Valuable Player in 1956 and 1957.” It also lists eight of his season highlights one of which is a 450 foot home run blast! This card is the most expensive in the 1960 Topps set and is worth about $600 in near mint condition. I do not own one of these yet but hope to someday!
